Ever have one of those moments when inspiration hits like a bolt of lightning, only to find yourself without the chance to harness that creative energy? By the time you do get a moment, the spark has fizzled, leaving you with nothing but the ghost of an idea. Yup, I know the feeling all too well.

I've started no less than three blog posts since last week, and they're all languishing in my drafts folder. So, instead of waiting for the perfect moment, let's just roll with whatever comes out. Because hey,

Something Is Always Better Than Nothing

Dear Diary,

You know what's great? Games with friends. But there's something uniquely satisfying about diving into a game solo, even if it devours every free second of your time.

Every few years, I find myself tumbling back into the world of Overwatch. Despite the endless patches and the fact that half the characters have been reworked to the point they're almost unrecognizable (*cough*Bastion*cough*), I still fall head over heels for it.

I'm an OG Overwatch player. I was there when Mercy could pull off those glorious instant resurrects. Ah, the days of 5-man resurrections... and when teams were 6 players strong. Wild times.

Now, I'm not usually one to toot my own horn, but when it comes to playing Mercy, my skills are next-level. It might be the only thing I confidently brag about. I could go three years without touching Overwatch, hop back in, and still carry a match. Maybe it's my ADHD and my knack for multitasking?

Here's the deal: my brain never really slows down. It's always whirring, always planning. If you've ever played Overwatch, you know how fast-paced it can get. Healers are the unsung heroes, the backbone of any match. Without them, your team is just cannon fodder.

Mercy’s ability to zip around and heal teammates fits perfectly with my need to always be on the move. Keeping everyone's health bars topped up is almost a compulsion – I can't stand seeing even a sliver of health missing.

But for now, I'll have to cut this little diary entry short. I've got a friend on her way over, someone I haven’t seen in nearly two years. So, this impromptu blog post will have to do for this week.

Something is always better than nothing.

And you know what? I'm proud of myself.

🌷  Signed, MJ
